No two dental emergencies are the same, but some are outrageously different! After reading about four of the wildest dental emergency stories you’ve ever heard, you’ll think a typical toothache or chipped tooth isn’t so bad after all. Remember, if you experience any type of oral pain or surprise symptoms, you should always contact your emergency dentist in Irving for assistance.

Turns Out a Mouth & Super Glue Do Not Go Together!

We’ve all met a mister fix-it that thinks they have everything under control when they most definitely do not! A woman had a dental crown fall out of her mouth, and instead of calling her dentist to have it permanently cemented back in place, she went to her nearest craft drawer and took out a tube of super glue. She glued her crown onto her tooth… and she got glue all over her throat and glued her teeth together!

Never Turn to Your Tool Stash for Dental Care

Dentists use drills and you have a drill in your garage, so you must be able to treat your own oral health problems, right? Not right! Definitely not right! A patient decided that he was going to drill his own tooth instead of calling a dentist, but unfortunately, after he was done, he couldn’t get his drill bit out of his tooth. Turns out, he needed to call his dentist anyways. (Who could have guessed that would happen!)

At Least There Wasn’t a Vet Bill, Too!

A patient’s crown fell out, and after finding it, rinsing it off, and setting it on the counter, she immediately called her emergency dentist for help. After getting off the phone, she turned around and the crown was gone… her dog ate it! She had to wait three days for the crown to pass, bringing it to her appointment with her. In this case, it’s probably best to just get a new one.

A Garden? In Your Mouth?

A patient scheduled an appointment to see his dentist because he’s been having a nagging toothache that seems to be getting worse by the day. After taking a look at the patient’s X-rays, the dentist determines that he needs to complete a root canal. When attempting to access the interior of the tooth, his dentist was shocked to see a plant sprouting in his mouth! It was later discovered that a tomato seed got stuck between his teeth and started growing.
